Jojo Italian Restaurant

Angie Thien for "Where in Dining"
June 21, 2011

Breakfast? Lunch? Dinner?  Not small decisions.  Luckily there's a new spot in town that seeks to fulfill all your dining desires.  Jojo Italian Restaurant at the new St. Regis Bangkok puts on many hats—the space will serve fresh deli items in the mornings, take on a casual bistro atmosphere in the afternoon, and go full on fine dining come evening.

Located at the ground floor of the St. Regis Bangkok, Jojo seems a bit far and away from the rest of the hotel which starts at a sky lobby on the 12th level.  However, being closer to the ground has its advantages, as the floor to ceiling windows give a theatrical view of Rajadmari Road's city life.  This also makes it that much easier to pop into Jojo, as it's literally a few steps from the BTS landing.

The menu is not extensive, but well edited with unique Italian dishes.  Along with the usual appetizers and mains, you can expect to see small lists, grouped by Benessere (low calorie) and Dal Forno (oven) which excludes the copper oven fired pizzas (those are in their own category.) Small dishes and appetizers are done perfectly with the Angus Beef Carpaccio (THB 470++) and the Caprese of Buffla Mozzarella (THB 350++) are simple, elegant, starts to a heavy meal.

We also recommend the Carbonara Tradizionale (THB 280/480++) made the way it's meant to be—with egg yolk and no cream, as well as The Originale Fettuccine Alfredo with Castelmagno and Butter (THB 320/450++) a handmade pasta that comes mixed in a parmesan wheel at tableside.  For something on the stranger side, try the Salme Di Ciocco (THB 340++) a dessert of nuts, chocolates, and thin slices of salami or if you're not in a rush to go back to work, the Martini Tiramisu (THB 350++.)

Jojo is currently open for lunch and dinner, but will add breakfast in the coming weeks.  Dinner reservations on weekends are recommended.
