You can use Aldo's Mediterranean Bistro and Wine Bar for two things:  First, to impress people with your knowledge of art (as Aldo's plays host to the largest collection of Aldo Lunongo paintings outside of North America) and secondly to impress them with your knowledge of wine, since it's one of only a handful of Bangkok restaurants with a Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence.  As for food, keep it simple with Aldo's Salad Niçois and Coa au Vin.  This works better if you can order them in a French accent.
